Tier 1 Try Outs
For all U12, U14 & U16 families with players interested in trying out for Tier 1 please read all information below.
Please find the link for Tier 1 tryouts (U12/14/16) sign up using google forms.
Please make sure to sign up in the correct age group.
We have to have time to assign jerseys, set the rosters and enter the data in the evaluation program for the independent evaluators before we hit the ice.

We have to have time to assign jerseys, set the rosters and enter the data in the evaluation program for the independent evaluators before we hit the ice.
Please sign up before the deadline, share it with the FYRA family.
Important notes:
- The Shake Off the Rust times are optional and have no effect on evaluations.
- You must be registered with FYRA to attend tryouts. Every athlete must be covered by insurance.
- You will be assigned a jersey and group #. Do not switch jerseys or groups. This is how you are identified to the evaluators. There are no names for them to see.
- Jerseys MUST be handed back in after every ice time.
- You must make every effort to attend ALL icetimes for your level, we can't help you if the evaluators have not seen you. The evaluators need to see you on the ice to assess you.If you need to miss due to illness or injury, please notify the Director of Player Dev.
NEW - We are having MANDATORY parent/guardian meetings for every player's family who will try out for Tier 1 all levels. These meetings are MANDATORY, you will need to attend 1 of them for your athlete to be able to try out for a Tier 1 team. We will be taking attendance and cross referencing it with the Tier 1 tryout sign ups. If you or a guardian do not attend this meeting, your athlete will be removed from the Tier 1 tryouts.
You must be registered for a parents meeting by 8pm Aug 19th.

Please make sure to spread the word about the sign up deadline, we do need time to have everything ready for your athletes. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
New: In an effort of fiscal responsibility, the FYRA has begun looking for ways to recoup costs for services/programs that are not used/ available to the entire membership.
Therefore, beginning this season, we will be charging a $40/player tryout fee.
The purpose of this fee is to help offset some of the added costs of early-season ice time, and ensure that we can continue to offer one of the lowest ice sport registration fees in the city.
At a minimum, the tryout fee will guarantee your player’s Shake off the Rust ice time and the first 2 skills ice times. There will be no fee for the rest of the tryouts should your player be invited to continue to the latter stages of the evaluations.
Payment information will be emailed to you after tryout registration and must be received before the first evaluation icetime.
